I find myself sitting here at home with some truly free time for once. What am I doing with it? Well, my best headphones are on my head and I am just sitting back and truly LISTENING to some music for the first time in a long time.

My tastes are pretty varied and include near everything other than gangster rap and country.

Tonight? I’ve always loved deep orchestral / cinematic type pieces and my playlist for the evening includes some of this based on the Mechwarrior/Battletech scifi universe and some based on the Critical Role Dungeons and Dragons universe. It also has some random electronica thrown in and some covers of Moog’s work of Mighty Car Mods fame.

Feel free to call ‘NERD!!!’ out loudly in my direction, but if you don’t mind that type of music, enjoy a selection from my playlist Oppo! :)

I usually watch until the break on the Thurs. livestream, go to bed and watch the second half on Friday night! I’ve actually never played D&D myself, but have always been a but interested...no friends or groups around here really play, so I have nowhere to try. Borsuq actually got me into Crit. Ro le! :)

A few folks I know might try a one shot online over the summer this year, so I have a character planned out - would be interesting if that would work out. :)

I’ve never played Battletech with real miniatures, just the online version of the board game through MegaMek. That being said, my brother is a Battletech FANATIC. I am sure he would love to have them, if even for display purposes!

Well, my ‘decent headphones’ are 1979-1982 Sony DR-S4s that once belonged to my grandmother that she used when practicing on her electric organ to play in church, haha!

I had to fix these up and modify them...they originally came with the larger 1/4" stereo jack, but I removed that and soldered on a 3.5mm jack to use with my computers, MP3 player and phone . Each ear also had separate volume rheostats so volume could be adjusted on each ear individually , but both were shot and created static / caused the sound to cut out on one side or another , so I opened them up and soldered a wire on each side bypassing the rheostats to make both sides just a constant volume (I always adjust volume on the device rather than the headphones anyway) ...problem solved!

The earmuffs were completely shot as well in that the original foam was hard as a rock and worn flat, so they were very uncomfortable and would give me a headache after a bit of listening....my brother had an old Turtle Beach headset he accidentally ripped the cord out of, so I took the relatively new, undamaged/unworn earmuffs off of that broken headset and superglued them to the DR-S4s. Overall, my DR-S4s are a bit grungy and a bit hacked together, but they still have a nice sound to them, plus it’s kindof fun knowing I’ve ‘personalized’ them myself and that they are still in the family, so to speak . :)

Not bad! Weirdly sortof reminds me of the soundtracks from the Need for Speed 3: Hot Pursuit and Need for Speed 4: High Stakes computer games!

The stream starts too late for us, so Friday after work us the soonest we can watch it.

I played only 2 times in high school, but now we are getting a campaign going with friends sometime this summer. We are really excited.

I never played any battle tech. I heard good things and found these cheap, but now the wife and I are trying to pair down on things and clean up. My email is my profile name at G ma il dot com. I can mail them at the beginning of next month.

I’m a big Battletech/Mech fan myself, but mostly have stuck to the computer game Mechwarrior series....I play Mechwarrior Online often when I get some free time! :)

The stream starts pretty late for me too...11pm, but the break is usually around 12:30-ish, so I can handle that late one night a week!

Ewwwww F ort Minor...that doesn’t classify as rap. Sure, it has a message, but so does stuff from J. Cole, Kendrick, X, a lot of older rap, Logic, etc. but at least theirs isn’t corny-sound ing and with wack beats. My mom tried to get me into that type of “rap” and that did not end well. It was Fort Minor specifically and she knows I like Linkin Park so she tried to throw in the fact that Shi noda was there too but nah.
